London is to Chicago as the Underground is to the L

I'm not entirely certain that analogy makes sense... but what can you do?

So we started our London excursion with a visit to the British Library (maybe the most dense and marvelous collection of incredibly influential literature I've ever seen... a few things that are there... Gutenberg Bible, original lyrics of Beatles songs, Jane Austen writings, Da Vinci journals, pieces of the Magna Carta... just to name a few) and a marvelous tour of the BBC in London.

Here we are at the BBC

Emily conducted an excellent newscast

Erin, Lucas, and Linda competed in The Weakest Link... Lucas won... Linda stole his prize

These guys were at the BBC... we got along well

This (Parliament and Big Ben) blew up in V for Vendetta. The rebuilding effort was really fast apparently... looks just like the original.

Here's the travelin' group rocking the 10 second timer at the now infamous "Generator" hostel in London. Great place as long as you can sleep through a bit of loud foreigners loving to go out late at night... or at 9 p.m. when we all went to bed.

Fat Bike Tire tour of London... probably the best way to see any city (I'll let you know for sure after Paris and Barcelona). Hit a lot of the major sites around London.

Harrod's department store kind of made me feel like a homeless person... mainly because of the crazy prices and amazing clothes... then I saw this gem (literally) of a jacket. Hilarious... didn't even bother to look at the price tag.

Really, really, really, really, really wanted to buy this Monopoly... but couldn't rationalize paying approximately $60 US dollars for it.

This is the turnstile I had to pay to go through in order to use the restroom at the over ground train station before heading back to Oxford. Really? Paying to use a not even nice restroom? Is that really necessary?

London is an amazingly vast city... it really just never ends... the only place I missed getting to see was the Waterloo Station... which really only has intrigue because of the scene in Bourne Ultimatum... maybe next time...
