After a wonderful 9 hour plane ride filled with "Bride Wars," Kings of Leon, the first 5 minutes of "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," and lots of non-sleep, myself and a small cross-section of the journalism and mass communication department from Abilene Christian University touched down at London Heathrow airport.
After a bus ride across the English countryside, we arrived in Oxford at our Canterbury homes. The weather that greeted us was sublime... breezy, sunny, warm... this daydream was short lived however. We set off on a walking tour of Oxford to keep us from the 6 hour time difference that was lurking around every corner, creeping, waiting... to capture us with its sleep.
Here are some highlights:
This is a free museum with literally thousands of interesting things... Oxford really is all about learning.
These are in that museum and apparently also in Harry Potter (shrunken heads?). I should probably read those books before I'm at 30...
This is maybe the most well-hidden pub in Oxford... and apparently the most famous.. you go down a maze of tiny allies and it's inbetween a bunch of buildings.
That gray brick on the right corner is the only "sign" that the Turf Tavern is down that alley. You can kind of make out the "t" and the "u" on the brick if you look close... Goodluck
Heard of C.S. Lewis? O you have? Well apparently this door to the left (w/ an unpictured lion on it)... those two gold animals... and the lamppost... served as inspiration for Aslan, the fawns, and the lamppost in the Chronicles of Narnia.
DAY 2
This was apparently a great day to forget my camera and subsequently have nothing to show from my evening trip into London to see Wicked, but in honor of this amazing musical, I have created a poorly photoshopped image of my excitement about it. Enjoy

That was basically all I did on day 2.
DAY 3
A day filled with fun, food and laughter (AP style).
After eating some Hoof in University Parks, we took this wonderful group shot under the tree where we partook in our meal. Well placed.
The trees here are absolutely amazing...boarding on absurd, when compared to trees common in the U.S. I don't really have anything else to say about that... but it's kind of like opening up a Lord of the Rings pop-up book.
This guy was playing Damien Rice songs in downtown Oxford... I love Damien Rice... and downtown Oxford... so this was double-y awesome. I have decided that, if/when my life fails miserably, I will become a mediocre street or subway musician and make a living that way.
This so concludes the beginning portion of my trip in Oxford, England.
